NiO-Ni-Al2O3(γ) Nanocatalyst by Pulse Electrocodeposition Over Ni Open-cell Foam for Methane Reforming

Global warming persuades researchers to improve the effectiveness of renewable energy technologies, such as H2 production by methane steam reforming (MSR) an endothermic process. Herein, a nanocatalyst based on open-cell nickel foam 40 (pore per inch) with high thermal conductivity was prepared. The synthesized chemical stepwise synthesis approach, pre-treatment, pulsed electrocodeposition Ni-Al2O3(γ) nanoparticles, and calcination. Measurements diffusivity(α) flash xenon technique gained 4.41×10-6 m2s-1 values specific heat capacity, Cp, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) conductivity(λ) enhanced 65% in temperature range 150 550°C Ni-alumina(γ) nanocatalyst. Furthermore, characterization tests for comparing indicated that hardness improved from 145 Vickers (HV) 547 HV compression strength increased 1.1 MPa 5MPa surface area (SBET) 1.48 m2g-1 48 m2g-1. XRD (x-ray diffraction) analysis showed NiO NiAl2O4 structure. interface between catalytic component (NiAl2O4), affected ability MSR, efficiency at low tempreture 500 °C same reported 720°C other investigations.
